Our activities
Our activities are advising on and managing investments. We are FCA regulated financial advisers and investment managers. Our status is “independent”, we are not tied to any other Investment firm nor does any other Investment firm have any commercial interest in LAWfm. Our policy is to refuse to accept to enter into relationships which could be viewed by our clients as having the potential to influence the advice and management we provide. We are often involved in areas that require the services of additional specialists and we have an extensive network of firms to call on in those areas. Where we provide expert witness advice this is unregulated and is based on our own expert opinions. Where we are providing evidence on loss of pension entitlement we may use the services of an actuary and we use an accountancy partner for the preparation of clients’ tax returns, together with other accountancy related matters. Wills are provided by specialist will writing solicitors. Charity formations are also provided by a solicitors practice. From time to time we are able to refer Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence cases to solicitors, the number of these is small and we currently do not operate as a claims manager though reserve the right to do so in the future. We do not hold client money, custody of investments is held by a number of separate custodians which may include both onshore and offshore arrangements. We are not licensed credit brokers and use the services of commercial banks when organising lending arrangements. Trust formation is either provided by the in house solicitor of an insurance or investment company or on other occasions we use a separate solicitors practice. Pension trusteeship is provided by a third party pension provider and transaction execution is provided by a number of third party member firms. Some of the services provided by partner firms are done so on a bulk fixed fee basis and others are by agreement. The services of partner firms are agreed separately though may be included for charging purposes in an overall fee charged by ourselves.A copy of our Pillar 3 document is available on request.

Leo Alexander Wealth & Financial Management Limited carries Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Financial Services Compensation Scheme
We are also covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (‘FSCS’). You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim.
We may also, on occasion, advise on other financial products and services which are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The Financial Services Compensation Scheme does not apply to any of these products or services.
